In 2023, Group sales amounted to EUR 39 bn. With a year-end market capitalization of around EUR 13 bn, OMV is one of Austria’s largest listed industrial companies. Chemicals & Materials

OMV is one of the world’s leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions, with total polyolefin sales of 5.7 mn t in 2023. It is also a European market leader in base chemicals and plastics recycling. The Company supplies services and products to customers worldwide through OMV and Borealis, and its two joint ventures: Borouge (with ADNOC, based in the UAE and Singapore) and Baystar™ (with TotalEnergies, based in the US).

Fuels & Feedstocks

OMV produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In addition, the activities include Gas & Power Eastern Europe where it also operates a gas-fired power plant in Romania.

OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2021 included production from a joint venture in Russia and amounted to 486,000 boe/d with a focus on natural gas (~60%). As of March 1, 2022, Russian entities are no longer consolidated. Its activities include Gas Marketing Western Europe, where it also operates gas storage facilities in Austria and Germany.

Climate Targets

We are reducing emissions in operations (Scope 1 & 2) by 30% by 2030 and those of our product portfolio (Scope 3) by 20%. Portfolio upgrades, enhancing efficiency, increasing renewable energy purchases, reducing throughput and sales of fossil refinery products, and increasing the share of recycled and sustainable feedstocks will be the key levers in achieving these targets All targets are in line with the Paris Agreement and the implementation will be monitored by independent bodies.
